The doors are opening

Hello everyone. After a long and bizarre few months and after having absorbed the constantly changing guidelines, the hall is beginning to re-open. Two of our previous regular bookings: Michelle’s Yoga and Mike’s Athlefit will be the first back. As you are all likely aware, there are some changes to how the hall can currently be used, with reduced numbers, increased cleaning and other factors. The committee has ensured that we are doing the actions that are necessary and will

Hall Closure

Hello all. Based on recent guidance from the government and with multiple classes already taking the steps to cancel, the hall will be closed for the rest of this week and next week. We will monitor the situation and open as soon as guidance suggests it is ok to do so. As a committee our first responsibility is to act in the interest of community health and well-being and follow the guidance from relevant authorities. We hope you are all

Progress for the floor

They have been sanded and then a varnish has been applied. In the coming weeks a

Calling all local tradesmen and craftsmen – Help needed to create a better Village Hall

Recently we have been gathering information about possible uses for the lower half of the hall and how it will run alongside expansion of the use of the upstairs area.  There was a common theme to the feedback that suggested that a multi-functional space was required that could host a variety of activities including but not restricted to: youth clubs, group cafes, meetings and training; different to the more open space upstairs.  With that in mind, the plan is to

Recent Success and the Future.

Hello all, the hall has continued to grow with multiple successful events having recently been held alongside our weekly activities. The St Piran’s day festival proved very popular and showed that the hall can still be the focal point for the village, and it also raised over £500 to help with improvements to the hall.  We also recently held our first live event, a fantastic night of of music from The Last Watch with scrumptious pasties from Over the Top

A new lease of life.

As many of you will know, the upper hall has recently received a new neutral colour scheme that will hopefully make it more inviting, looking fresher and cleaner.  I would like to say thank you to all those that helped to make this happen. I would especially like to thank Paul Renfree who not only helped us get the paint cheaper, he also donated the first few pots, and to Clive Frederick-Preece who’s various ladders and scaffolding made the job
