Open day success and the immediate future.

We are now a charity!

I can happily announce that we are now officially a charity. We received our confirmation this afternoon, much sooner than expected and without further information required. This will now allow us to function under the control of the charity commission, providing our community the assurance that the Hall is there for everyone. It will also open up funding options that would previously have been denied to us. It will be some time next week before we appear on the online

Gunnislake Festival

It’s almost time for the Gunnislake festival. Running from the 8th of July until the 16th there are a whole host of events around the village, including some within the hall.  Come along to as many as you can, see what our wonderful community has to offer. Site update June 17th

The site has recently been updated with some of it’s history, written by our secretary Frank Goodman.   Have a read and if you think there is something interesting to add then please send us an email.  We would also like to add some photo’s from past events so that everyone can enjoy seeing the hall in it’s prime and see its potential, which we are determined to fulfil.

Results of our first AGM

I can happily announce that we now have a voting committee of 18 members, 7 of which are trustee’s and that a vote has been passed to apply for status as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This will provide security, accountability and possibilities for the future. Next meeting is on Monday the 24th of July but in the mean time, thank you for your support and don’t forget, the hall is open. Let’s use it. Open for business

Gunnislake Hall is open and ready for business! All it needs now are lots of events to fill it. The Coffee Mornings and the Table Tennis club are still ongoing and the GLAD Youth Group are putting on Saturday morning workshops here. A Digital Photography course run by Stuart Bailey is also scheduled for Wednesday nights in June/July.
