Hall update July

Hello everyone, it has been a busy and successful couple of months as the hall continues to push forward.

There were many successful events held in the hall during the festival week and it was great for the committee to see the hall actively being used for community events.  We have received several donations recently, the biggest of which was from the Albaston Fete who donated a fantastic £400 from their coffers.   I have recently had a quote to replace the windows and doors downstairs, including opening up those that have been bricked up and was pleasantly surprised by its cost so I will be looking for funding to achieve this. We will also be looking for quotes for the gas heating which needs completely replacing.  This Friday we finished putting up the new curtains(that were mostly funded by the crowdfunder) which will not only improve the look of the hall but will also allow us to hold events like daytime disco’s and cinema evenings.

At the recent AGM there were no changes to the Trustee’s and I continue as chair with Frank Goodman as secretary and Steve Sheasby as treasurer, a small number stepped down from the committee due to other commitments. We welcome at anytime anyone who thinks they would like to join the committee to attend meetings and provide another voice in discussions, this does not mean you are committed to any other actions.

Once again I would like to thank the many people who continue to support the hall.
