Calling all local tradesmen and craftsmen – Help needed to create a better Village Hall

Recently we have been gathering information about possible uses for the lower half of the hall and how it will run alongside expansion of the use of the upstairs area.  There was a common theme to the feedback that suggested that a multi-functional space was required that could host a variety of activities including but not restricted to: youth clubs, group cafes, meetings and training; different to the more open space upstairs.  With that in mind, the plan is to

Recent Success and the Future.

Hello all, the hall has continued to grow with multiple successful events having recently been held alongside our weekly activities. The St Piran’s day festival proved very popular and showed that the hall can still be the focal point for the village, and it also raised over £500 to help with improvements to the hall.  We also recently held our first live event, a fantastic night of of music from The Last Watch with scrumptious pasties from Over the Top

A new lease of life.

As many of you will know, the upper hall has recently received a new neutral colour scheme that will hopefully make it more inviting, looking fresher and cleaner.  I would like to say thank you to all those that helped to make this happen. The start of a make-over

We have finalised times for the decoration preparation weekend. There will be 8 sessions over a three day period with two committee members present to help co-ordinate efforts to get the hall ready for a new lick of paint and some fresh life. We would love for you to join us for as little or as long as you can. Any buckets or blocks to help with sanding would also be appreciated. The times for each session are: Friday 3rd

A new lease of life

On November the 3rd, 4th and 5th members of the hall committee will be at the hall between 9AM and 9PM to clean and prepare the hall ready for decoration. A fresh, neutral coat of paint will go a long way to revitalising the hall. We would love you to come and help for as little or as long as you can at any point that weekend. Many hands make light work as they say. We would be very grateful

Open day success and the immediate future.

Last week we held several open events, inviting other local groups to attend.  A good time was had by all as many members of our great community came to find out what was happening in the hall and give their thoughts about it’s future.  It is very encouraging to see so much interest in the hall’s future.  So far we have seen 52 of the leaflets dropped in the doorways returned with your thoughts about events to hold. If you

We are now a charity!

I can happily announce that we are now officially a charity. We received our confirmation this afternoon, much sooner than expected and without further information required. This will now allow us to function under the control of the charity commission, providing our community the assurance that the Hall is there for everyone. It will also open up funding options that would previously have been denied to us. It will be some time next week before we appear on the online
