Progress for the floor

After two long weekends and help from many members of the management committee and a small number of volunteers from the community, the floor in the upstairs hall has seen a major change. Floor renovation

Hi everyone. On Friday the 8th of March we will begin to renovate the upstairs hall’s floor. This is not only make the hall a little nicer but to allow a wider variety of activities to take place. We will be pulling up all of the old flooring, sanding the old floorboards and varnishing them. The heaviest work load will be on the Friday when we will need to bring down the curtains, clear the hall, pull up the carpet

Autumn Updates and future plans

It’s been a busy couple of months at the hall as we move forward in improving the facilities. Thanks to funding from the Tamar Valley AONB we have recently installed a baby changing unit that is accessible to everyone as well as two solar powered lights to increase visibility at the main entrances as the nights draw in.  We have further improvements to the toilet facilities happening right now as well a major revamp planned for the future.  A second

Hello everyone, it has been a busy and successful couple of months as the hall continues to push forward. There were many successful events held in the hall during the festival week and it was great for the committee to see the hall actively being used for community events.  We have received several donations recently, the biggest of which was from the Albaston Fete who donated a fantastic £400 from their coffers.   I have recently had a quote to replace

Calling all local tradesmen and craftsmen – Help needed to create a better Village Hall

Recently we have been gathering information about possible uses for the lower half of the hall and how it will run alongside expansion of the use of the upstairs area.  There was a common theme to the feedback that suggested that a multi-functional space was required that could host a variety of activities including but not restricted to: youth clubs, group cafes, meetings and training; different to the more open space upstairs.  With that in mind, the plan is to

Recent Success and the Future.

Hello all, the hall has continued to grow with multiple successful events having recently been held alongside our weekly activities. The St Piran’s day festival proved very popular and showed that the hall can still be the focal point for the village, and it also raised over £500 to help with improvements to the hall.  We also recently held our first live event, a fantastic night of of music from The Last Watch with scrumptious pasties from Over the Top
